Our Goal
Our goal is to protect, preserve, and manage wild spaces to create opportunities for people to form meaningful and reciprocal relationships with nature.
What We Do
We work to connect people to land, with our nature sanctuary at the heart of everything we do. Our organization is small but mighty, powered by passionate people in our local community. Through our conservation and restoration efforts in the sanctuary, we provide people and wildlife a place to coexist.

Community Engagement and Advocacy
Our organization was started locally, created by women in the community who are passionate about protecting nature. Through grassroots efforts, the organization was able to purchase the land now known as the It's Our Wild Nature Sanctuary and Altis Natural School. Today, all conservation and management of the land is run by volunteers and our organization continues to advocate for wild spaces throughout our community.

Conservation and Restoration
Our organization is committed to principles of environmental stewardship. Our approach to conservation and restoration in the sanctuary is driven by our goal to connect people to land. We believe the first step in protecting the environment is having a relationship with the place we want to protect. We work to restore historical fidelity of the land, managing for the ecosystems that once existed before colonial expansion.

Research and Learning
Our sanctuary is also known as the Altis Natural School. We believe that engaging with nature facilitates many kinds of learning, and therefore, our organization strives to promote educational experiences for the community. We engage in collaborations with university partners, lead workshops and citizen science campaigns, and provide space for independent research and learning.
